Well, finally after many months of talking about the Corner Shop Gym concept, completing market research and meeting after meeting we launched our services. We chose the Sports & Fitness Show, held in the RDS this weekend gone (22nd & 23rd February) to bring our service to the market. Many of you met us there and we explained what exactly it is we do but for those of you who missed out we shall enter our blogging world with a review!
I, (it’s me, Susan!) have had this concept in the back of my head for some time now and after teaching with various schools on various fitness courses I really felt there was a need to go one step further. I have been telling my students for the past 3 years that it is the rise of the “Corner Shop Gym” as we see people returning to local business to offer community support and receive a perceived higher level of service. Last week Business Barometer (www.businessbarometer.ie) reported that over 15000 new companies were set up in the calendar month of January 14. This is the first time since 2008 the figure has exceeded 1,500. I’ll safely bet a reasonable percentage of these were health and wellness related. Timely then that I finally got my act together to launching our services!
So what do we do exactly? Well, we coach fitness professionals in all things business related to ensure their entrepreneurial venture can be a long and successful one.
