Basic First Aid

Course Outline
This course is designed for those who are likely to come across first aid scenarios infrequently or those who are wishing to up-skill for life or their job. An example of typical participants on this course includes parents, teachers, students and office workers.

Patient Assessment
Common Medical Emergencies
Wounds & Bleeding
Musculoskeletal Injuries
Adult CPR & Defibrillation
Altered Levels of Consciousness

Participants undergo continuous assessment throughout the course with a summative multiple choice theory test the end of the course. 

There is no prior learning required for this course but students must be physically fit and able to complete chest compressions on the manikin effectively with guidance. Students with specific learning or physical requirements should contact us directly to arrange reasonable accommodation.

On successful completion of this course students will receive a certificate of attendance which is valid for 2 years.

This course must be completed in full to maintain these skills every 2 years.
