Heartsaver CPR & AED

Course Outline
This highly regarded emergency first aid course, Heartsaver CPR & AED, has been developed by the American Heart Association and is a recognised qualification in Ireland accredited by the Irish Heart Foundation. This course uses a combination of video led instruction with instructor led guidance, feedback and assessment. Throughout this course participants will have an opportunity to complete numerous rounds of CPR as well as operate a training defibrillator so as to perfect technique and ensure the highest standard of CPR training possible. This course can be completed over 3 hours to include adults only or a half day (4 hours to include infant & child).

Adult Pocket Mask Use
Adult Foreign Body Airway Obstruction
Adult Defibrillation

Infant Choking

Assessment
Participants undergo continuous assessment throughout the course with a summative practical assessment at the end of the course. 

Pre-Requisites
There is no prior learning required for this course but students must be physically fit and able to complete chest compressions on the manikin effectively with guidance. Students with specific learning or physical requirements should contact us directly to arrange reasonable accommodation.

Certification
On successful completion of this course students will receive a credit card sized certificate which is valid for 2 years.

Renewal
This course must be completed in full to re-certify every 2 years.
